Engineer Student Award 2017

On the 1st of April 2017 begins the first edition of the all-Poland competition Engineer Student Award 2017 for technical university students whose faculty or passion refer to the track infrastructure. The competition is organized by TransComfort, Business Unit of M&MR Trading Polska Sp. z o.o., and co-organized by longtime business partner – Dätwyler Sealing Technologies Deutschland GmbH.


Rail industry and railway infrastructure need to connect both, the sphere of business and science. Hence the project between these two dimensions – Engineer Student Award 2017. TransComfort wants to promote and develop young, conscious people whose pioneer on an international scale solutions will be able to be deployed in Poland.


We have prepared five problems related to rail infrastructure. Participants are expected to design or create a solution for one or more of these problems:


    1. “Rail fixing with continuous support without cross-bars”

    2. “Sleeper pads – BN918145”

    3. “Deflection measurement during passage of a rail-vehicle”

    4. “Pavement system for railway crossing with preservation of continuity of track and road pavement”

    5. “Track safe for cyclists”


Students can win a monthly internship at Co-Organizer Dätwyler Sealing Technologies Deutschland GmbH, 3000 PLN and an opportunity to continue and develop their own projects. TransComfort will also award two prizes of 1000 PLN each.


Students can send their submissions from April 1 till August 31 at The award ceremony will take place on the TransComforts booth during this year's International Railway Fair TRAKO.

Among Partners and Patrons of the Engineer Student Award 2017 competition there are the Polish Railway Transport Office, Culture of Safety in Railway Transport, Polish Chamber of Manufacturers of Equipment and Services for Railway, International Railway Fair TRAKO, Economy Advisers Group TOR and the branch magazine Railway Market.
